TakoSushi’s New Forest Acres Location to Open May 14, 2024

Restaurant Showcasing Latin and Asian Cuisine Marks Second Midlands Location

(COLUMBIA, SC) – TakoSushi in Forest Acres, located at 4711 Forest Dr., Columbia, will officially open its doors tomorrow, Tuesday, May 14, at 11 a.m. This marks the second Midlands-area TakoSushi location to open under the Columbia-based culinary enterprise Food People Restaurant Group, owned by local entrepreneurs Chris Sullivan and James Williams.

In recognition of opening week, the first 25 guests each day Tuesday, May 13 through Friday, May 17 will receive free queso for a year.

The new location features TakoSushi’s signature Latin and Asian menu offerings, including sushi rolls, sashimi, soups, tacos and a variety of specialty drink options. Designed to cater to both families and food enthusiasts, the restaurant boasts a modern and inviting interior design along with ample outdoor dining space perfect for casual lunches, dinners and special occasions.

“The opening of our new location in Forest Acres is a significant step for Food People Restaurant Group as we continue to bring innovative dining experiences to the Midlands area,” says Chris Sullivan, founder and co-owner of Food People. “We are excited to expand TakoSushi’s presence and allow more customers to enjoy our unique blend of Latin and Asian cuisines.”

The new 2,400-square-foot TakoSushi, with indoor seating for 76 and outdoor seating for 40, will be open for lunch and dinner Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Reservations are accepted and can be made by calling 803-227-8724. The Forest Park shopping center, located in the heart of Forest Acres, is also home to Lowes Foods, Eggs Up Grill, the UPS Store, CVS and other businesses.

TakoSushi has multiple locations across South Carolina and Georgia, including 1332 Main St. in the historic Arcade Mall in downtown Columbia. The company also plans to open a third Midlands-area location at the corner of West Main and Church Streets in Lexington later this year.
